Sunburn Care

It goes without saying that wearing sunscreen is a must during the hot summer months. But if a sunburn sneaks its way through here are a few helpful tips to help reduce the heat…

1. Do not pick or peel off skin, you could potentially cause scaring and further damage

2. Moisturize moisturize moisturize, but stay away from heavily fragranced lotions that could cause irritation

3. Obviously stay out of the sun for a few days until the peak of the burn has calmed down

4. Excess sweating is not recommended, so skip Bikhram or Cross Fit classes for a few days

5. Try using coconut oil to calm down the redness and dull sting of a sunburn. It will also help prevent or reduce peeling

6. Watch the temperature of your baths and showers, super hot water will only add to the burn

Have a great weekend, Shane
